For one day only Santa ditched his traditional reindeer and sleigh opting instead for a motor and three wheels for the Balclutha Santa Parade on Saturday. Hundreds lined both sides of Clyde St to watch the parade, most there to catch a glimpse and wave from Santa, who drove by on the back of a bright red trike. With the temperature reaching 26degC by the time the parade set off at 1pm, Santa may have wished he had brought his shorts. Other community groups had also coincided their events to time with the Santa Parade. After the parade Santa was surrounded by young and old admirers wanting a hug and a photo with him.
