Moniruzzaman, also a columnist and political analyst, breathed his last at Mugda Medical College and Hospital around 7:20am on Tuesday, according to the Bangla daily. The senior journalist was admitted to the hospital on October 31 after testing positive for Covid-19. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at the demise of Khandaker Moniruzzaman. Born on March 12, 1948, in Dhaka, Moniruzzaman was involved in leftist politics while studying at Dhaka University.
