OngThe Sandiganbayan Seventh Division has denied the motion for leave of court to file a demurrer to evidence filed by Iloilo City Rep. Geronimo Buenaventura Treñas, seeking to challenge the evidence in his graft case. Treñas was faulted for releasing the funds to the IPC even though it was not an accredited non-government organization of Iloilo City. In his motion, Treñas said that the prosecution failed to prove the second and third elements of a graft. Gauging from the evidence presented so far by the prosecution, the court is more inclined to believe that the pieces of evidence are strong enough to warrant a conviction.
