Binay filed a demurrer to evidence contesting the prosecution’s evidence which the Fifth Division of the anti-graft court granted. Binay’s graft case stemmed from the reported anomalous purchase of furniture and partitions from September to November 1999. In her demurrer, Binay contested that neither the documentary evidence in the case, nor the testimonies of the prosecution witnesses, can justify conviction. But the anti-graft court denied the move on August 22, 2018.
