Sanbornton residents ask town for new well

By THOMAS P. CALDWELL, LACONIA DAILY SUNSANBORNTON — Jan and Don Noyes are asking for clean water. Testing by Sanbornton’s health officer, Bill Tobin, confirmed that road salt had contaminated the well on their property at 127 Burleigh Hill Road. “In the past, we didn’t plow as often, and didn’t keep the road open, so we didn’t have to worry about contamination,” he said. Katy North, chairman of the Sanbornton Board of Selectmen, said both policy and precedence support having the town replace the Noyeses’ well, but noted that there is a process to be followed. Selectman Tom Salatiello suggested that the selectmen get Tobin’s thoughts on the matter and then proceed with his recommendation.
