Charles Flanders told the selectmen on Wednesday that he thinks the request for proposals, or RFP, on the road reclamation project for Lower Bay Road should have included state road specifications. The project would include road work between Upper Smith Road to Leavitt Road, along with repairs to Collieson, Ellis Farm, and Leavitt roads, and Skyline Drive. The town already had awarded the bid on the project to GMI Asphalt Corporation of New Hampton, at a cost of $807,000. During the course of the discussion, Benoit said, “Never again should the town let attorneys make the town’s decisions. The town attorney should be used only for contracts and lawsuits, he said.
