San Francisco suspect in violent knife attack on 2 women refuses to leave cell, delaying arraignment

A San Francisco man accused in a violent knife attack on two older Asian women refused to come out of his jail cell Friday, forcing his arraignment to be postponed until Monday. Patrick Thompson, 53, who allegedly stabbed the women while they were waiting to catch a bus on Market Street, will be held without bail. A witness told KGO-TV that Thompson was carrying a large knife with knuckles on the handle on Tuesday and without warning attacked the women. The San Francisco Police Officers Association called the move a "political stunt." Victoria Eng said of her grandmother, who she identified as Chui Flong Eng, 85, on a crowdfunding page on Thursday.
