San Diego tourism leaders want your feedback as they plan for the next 10 years of visitors

San Diego’s tourism leaders are in the midst of crafting a road map for how best to attract visitors over the next decade, but for the first time ever, they want to hear from locals as to how best to do that. It’s been 10 years since the San Diego Tourism Authority last updated its master plan, and that previous effort did not include outreach to the local community to get its feedback, said Kerri Kapich, chief operating officer of the Tourism Authority. Kapich said she hopes the outreach effort will also give the Tourism Authority some ideas on the kinds of attractions residents might like to see, in addition to what already has been in San Diego for years. “The last major attraction built in San Diego was Legoland in 1999, so is there a desire to see more of that kind of development?” she said. Resonance will also review already existing research gathered from travelers to San Diego, supplemented with interviews with stakeholders in the community, Kapich said.
