The officer had just pulled over a driver in a traffic stop on the south side of police headquarters, McManus said. The officer returned to his patrol car to write up a ticket when the suspect pulled up behind him. The suspect walked up to the patrol car passenger window and shot the officer in the head, McManus said. The suspect then reached into the vehicle and shot the officer a second time, McManus said.
