For instance, Valve recommends at least 5GHz of capacity on your wireless network if you’re wanting to stream particularly powerful PC games, and your PC will only output 4K games to the Samsung 4K TV if it’s capable of playing them. It’s worth bearing mind regarding this last point, though, that another advantage of streaming your Steam PC games to Samsung’s 4K TVs is that they will upscale 1080p signals to 4K for playback. And when you’re talking about Samsung’s relatively high-end 4K TVs, at least, the quality of that upscaling is surprisingly good (and introduces minimal gaming lag). Steam Link set-top boxes have been around since 2015 offering the same feature. However, as well as removing the clutter associated with an external box, bringing Steam Link via an app to Samsung TVs saves you the $50 or so you need for an external Steam Link box.
