According to KGI, Samsung has no apparent reason to risk having an under-display fingerprint scanner in next year's Galaxy S9. Essentially, the Galaxy S9 will reportedly come with a conventional rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, albeit one that is placed at a more ergonomic position. In the case of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+, it lies right next to the camera module which makes using it quite frustrating. Samsung will meanwhile launch the Galaxy Note 8 -- successor to the now defunct Galaxy Note 7 -- in New York City on August 23.
