Samajwadi Party's candidate from Alapur Chandrashekhar Kanaujia died following a heart attack during an election campaign in Ambedkar Nagar. Kanaujia was campaigning ahead of the Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. The 38-year-old SP candidate was campaigning in Sabitpur region of the constituency when he suffered a heart attack. The Samajwadi Party had given Kanuajia the ticket against its current legislator Bhim Prasad Sonkar.
