Opening in 4,600 screens nationwide, Tiger Zinda Hai, a sequel to spy drama Ek Tha Tiger, nabbed the best opening of the year with $5.31 million on Friday, surpassing Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again’s opening day earning of $4.7 million. Tiger Zinda Hai should easily recover its production cost of $23 million in the first week. In 2012, Khan's Ek Tha Tiger smashed box office records to collect a whopping figure of $5.15 million on its opening day. In Tiger Zinda Hai, Tiger embarks on a journey with Zoya to rescue Indian nurses abducted by a jihadist group in Iraq that winningly indicates one route out of the region’s political conflict.
