Salesman used card to take fuel


A Dunedin salesman has pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars of fuel from his employer. Hsiang used a stolen fuel card from his employer, George Weston Foods Ltd, to buy $7858.15 of fuel for his personal car between February 21, 2015, and July 22 this year. He used the card without permission on 162 occasions, a police summary of facts said.He worked at the company as a merchandiser. His personal vehicle was used to visit customers and he was paid an agreed amount per kilometre to cover fuel and maintenance costs. However, on February 21, 2015, he took the fuel card from a drawer in the company’s office,drove to a service station in Dunedin and bought fuel with the card.This continued until July this year.
