Salaries of all political appointees will be fozen for a year, the Chief Executive Carrie Lam said today. Speaking before the weekly Executive Council meeting, she said these official include the Chief Executive and Chief Secretary, and political assistants. She said she and heads of bureau had reduced their wages earlier. As for the freezing the salaries of civil servants, she emphasized that a basket of factors had been considered, and she believed that civil servants would understand that society hopes to overcome difficulties together.
