Salah al-Namroush, a military commander affiliated with the Government of National Unity, has retracted his latest criticism of Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh after receiving backlash from other government members. Al-Namroush made his critical remarks during an interview with French magazine Jeune Afrique, which was published on Friday. In the interview, the military commander described Dbeibeh as “corrupt” and claimed that he “never invested in security” of the country. A day after the interview was published, Al-Namroush released a statement via Facebook on Saturday, accusing international media of agitating public opinion without referencing Jeune Afrique or his own interview with the magazine. “Some international media are trying to exploit their interviews with officials in Libya to fuel public opinion,” he said.
