Safe return of Malaysians of utmost concern, says S. Korean politician - Nation

KUALA LUMPUR: The safe return of the Malaysians who are still stranded in North Korea is of utmost concern to South Korea, said its National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun. The South Korean politician said he is confident that the remaining nine Malaysians, comprising diplomatic staff and their families, would be returned home soon. “The most important thing is that the Malaysians can come back to their own country safely, and I think that will happen very soon,” Chung said. Chung was commenting on the country's handling of the Kim Jong-nam murder case, praising Malaysia's role in the saga that has seen its relations with North Korea becoming strained in recent weeks. North Korea had subsequently denied permission for 11 Malaysians to leave the country, although two staffers from the United Nations managed to fly out of Pyongyang using UN passports.
