Safaricom has sued blogger Cyprian Nyakundi for defamation over articles in which he said the telecommunications giant is exploiting Kenyans. Safaricom asked to serve the controversial blogger through newspapers saying tracing him was difficult. Milimani law courts issued a temporary injunction stopping Nyakundi from publishing articles about Safaricom. The company cited the part 1 - 16 series of "offensive" articles by Nyakundi saying they were unsubstantial, unsupported and portrayed it as fraudulent. Safaricom says in the summons that Nyakundi accused it of firing their staff for falling ill.
