Pictures posted by NOC on social media showed Sanalla being greeted by employees of the company and security personnel. In a speech, Sanalla said Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah’s mandate had expired and he did not have the authority to dismiss him as head of the state energy producer. Earlier on Wednesday media outlets broke the news that Dbeibah fired the NOC chief and the entire board of directors. The decision to remove the entire board of directors was made last month at the request of Oil Minister Mohamed Aoun who has been in open war with Sanalla. He has managed to be in the realm of the company owing to rivalries between various Libyans parties.
