Supping on a craft beer, former McDonald’s boss Steve Easterbrook is snapped drowning his sorrows a fortnight after being fired from his £12 million- a-year job for having a relationship with a colleague. However, the British executive needn’t be too downcast, as he received a reported £58 million payoff from the fast-food giant he ran for four years. Divorced Mr Easterbrook was forced to quit as chief executive because his consensual relationship with an unnamed woman breached McDonald’s strict rules. Mr Easterbrook, from Watford, Hertfordshire, joined McDonald’s in 1993 as a UK store manager. He rose up the ranks to become global CEO in 2015, overseeing an £18 billion-a-year turnover.
