Catchment areas of the Sabarigiri hydroelectric project too have been receiving moderate rain for the past week. As per the records available at the Divisional Forest Office in Konni, the hilly tracts bordering forests received a total of 35 mm rain in the past 24 hours. The rain gauge at Kurudamannil has recorded 6 mm from Thursday morning to Friday morning. The Kakki-Anathodu twin reservoirs of the Sabarigiri project has received 18 mm of rain on Thursday and Friday. The Sabarigiri reservoirs recorded 50% of its total capacity as on Saturday, official sources at Moozhiyar said.
