KENINGAU: Six firefighters trekked six hours through thick jungle and a logging route to rescue an injured villager at Sungai Ulu Pangas, here. Assisted by a group of Kampung Ulu Pangas villagers, the team was deployed to the area after receiving a distress call at 4.50am last Sunday about an injured village man. “The team had to drive through a gravel logging route to reach Ulu Pangas and then trekked about six hours to locate the victim. “With support from the second team, the firefighters rescued and brought the victim out the following day at 1.55pm. On the rescue team, Mudi said all personnel on duty are tired, but otherwise safe.
