Sabah corruption probe: Over RM30 million deposited in overseas bank account, RM30 million worth of land titles

KOTA KINABALU: The two top Sabah Water Department officers involved in the multimillion graft have deposited over RM30 million in banks overseas, said a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) source. Today, MACC had engaged Sabah Land and Survey Department officers to appraise the 127 land titles seized from the deputy. “After carrying out a detailed evaluation, the value of all land titles is estimated at about RM30 million. Among the land titles are a housing land, agriculture plots as well as commercial lands in several locations across the state,” the source said. As of today, MACC has recorded statements from 40 witnesses to facilitate investigation into what is believed to be the country’s biggest graft case to date.
