Share TweetBy Ellalyn De Vera-RuizThe number of Filipinos who said their lives improved in the past three months has recovered from “fair” to “very high” levels in the fourth quarter of 2018 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey results. The nationwide survey, conducted last Dec. 16-19 among 1,440 respondents, found 37 percent of adult Filipinos saying their lives improved, and 25 percent saying their lives worsened, for a net gainers score of +12, classified by SWS as very high. The December 2018 survey also found 45 percent expecting their personal quality of life to improve in the next 12 months, referred to as “optimists” and 5 percent expecting it to get worse, referred to as “pessimists. According to SWS, net economic optimists refers to expectations about the Philippine economy in general, and is different from net personal optimism, which refers to expectations in personal quality of life.
