More Filipinos are optimistic that the quality of their lives and the economy will get better in 2018, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey. Net optimism about the economy had been excellent (+20 and above) in all eight surveys since December 2015. Joblessness easesThe SWS also reported that joblessness dipped in the third quarter of 2017 but optimism on the availability of work dropped slightly. The third quarter’s joblessness numbers improved by 3.3 percent from 22.2 percent or 10.5 million jobless adults in June 2016. However, net optimism on job prospects in the next 12 months went down in the third quarter compared with the second quarter.
