Some of the conservation efforts were decades in the making. “It’s always a little bit anticlimactic in the end because a mark of success of any conservation project is the status quo. Nothing changes,” said Christa Collins, the Director of land protection at the SVT who said three conservation efforts coming together at the end of June was a coincidence. The SVT is also fundraising for conserving Stonefield Farm in Acton, which the Boston Area Gleaners plan to purchase. Although there’s always more work to do, Collins said she was often reminded how much work the SVT has already done while driving.
