Entrance of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet Dhaka TribuneThe university authority is expected to take further action after investigating the matterThe authorities of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in Sylhet suspended a student for reportedly physically harassing a female student. The accused is Sumon Das Subir, a 4th-year student of Public Administration department at SUST, confirmed University Registrar Md Ishfaqul Hossain on Tuesday. On Monday, the victim, a third-year student of the same department of the university, lodged a written complaint with the university proctor against Sumon, alleging physical harassment on the streets. Acting proctor Abu Hena Pohil said the accused student has been temporarily suspended subject to a preliminary investigation. Sumon hails from Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamganj district and currently resides in a mess at medina market in Sylhet.
