The hall provosts made the order on Thursday following the vice-chancellor’s decision to ensure students’ safety amid the ongoing unrest that generated from clashes between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League on campus recently. Male students will have to leave their halls by 6pm Thursday while the female students have been given time until 12pm on Friday. Eight activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL)’s SUST unit were injured in a clash between two factions on Saturday. Different fractions of SUST BCL engaged in clashes repeatedly in the last few days. Clash between factions led by SUST BCL President Sanjiban Chakarabarty Partho and Imran Khan left scores of students injured on Monday and Wednesday.
