There was a lot of speculation that they might ban AIFF over this "third party interference." They were not bluffing when they said they would ban India. That money is peanuts to FIFA compared to the risk of having an out-of-control India slowly increasing its influence over world football. And a FIFA ban is nothing to be toyed with. While the instant dopamine hit of upturning the system via a FIFA ban may seem appealing, it does not actually lead to the changes fans desire.
