The Social Security System (SSS) on Thursday warned its members and pensioners against falling prey to fraudsters. In an advisory, the state-run pension fund reminded its members and pensioners to not respond to unsolicited requests for personal information, password or social security information. The “SSS will never ask for your personal information or social security information through e-mail, SMS (short messaging service) or phone call. Members and pensioners should keep their personal SSS records and unified multipurpose ID (UMID) card safe and secure, according to the agency. Moreover, application for UMID card requires personal appearance for data capturing at SSS branches,” the SSS said.
