An investigation into a top Manawatū greyhound trainer using live bait to train his dogs could stretch into the new year. SPCA chief executive Andrea Midgen said investigators were waiting for forensic evidence taken from Brendon Cole's property to go under the microscope. Greyhound Racing New Zealand guidelines only allow artificial lures. In September, they jointly claimed Greyhound Racing New Zealand's breeder of the year award.
