FernandoA senior official of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said yesterday (16) that the writ petition filed by 12 persons, named themselves as “like-minded patriots” and “civil society advocates”, on Monday (15) in the Appeal Court of Sri Lanka was nothing but another “backdoor tactic” of a certain party that is “unable to come to SLC administration through an election”. “I don’t think the Minister (Youth and Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa) will approve such a move. Some signatures have been obtained on it by saying it is only for a Constitutional and voting change of SLC,” the official said.
