Sri Lanka should manufacture medicinal drugs that are currently being imported from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said today. “We know that about 70% of our medicinal drugs are imported from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Therefore, we have a responsibility to produce those drugs in the country. The Prime Minister was speaking at the opening of the new medicinal drugs manufacturing facility of the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation in Ratmalana. The State Pharmaceutical Corporation officials at the event presented the newly launched Flucloxacillin 500mg tablets to the Prime Minister.
