The province's police watchdog is appealing for witnesses to an incident at an Oktoberfest event that left a 43-year-old man seriously injured. The SIU says there was an interaction between the man and the officers, the man was arrested, taken to the detachment and then released a short time later. The man was later diagnosed with a serious injury. The SIU is urging anyone who may have information, or video or photos of the interaction to contact investigators. The SIU is an arms-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
