The Special Investigations Unit is investigating after the death of a 59-year-old man near Peterborough. Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police reportedly responded to a call for a “man in distress” at around 3:15 p.m. Monday. OPP officers located the man at a home in Douro Township, near Peterborough. He “was pronounced dead at the scene,” SIU officials said in a news release. The SIU has assigned two investigators and two forensic investigators to the incident.
