Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating the death of a 44-year-old man following an arrest outside a Brampton home Tuesday morning. A 911 call was placed to Peel Region police at around 8:45 a.m., the Special Investigations Unit said in a statement. Officers later arrived at a residence near Bovaird Dr. and McLaughlin Rd., and “interacted with a man,” the statement said. He was taken to hospital, where he later died. The statement did not give any specifics as to what this interaction entailed, details of the man’s injuries or why the 911 call was made in the first place.
