State Intelligence Services (SIS) Director Maj. Gen. Suresh Sallay is to send letters of demand (LoDs) to Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha, and two news websites, for allegedly making defamatory and misleading statements against him over purported links to the Easter Sunday attacks. The LoDs are to be delivered to the respondents through Sallay’s lawyers this week, it is further learnt. Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana on Saturday (20) said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will summon MP Bandara over the complaint made by Sallay. Although DIG Rohana was able to confirm Salley would be summoned, he was unable to give an exact date for this. The SIS Chief on Friday (19) lodged a complaint with the CID against Bandara over public statements made by him, falsely accusing Sallay of being linked to the Easter Sunday bombings.
