SIKA launches 100th national subsidiary in Bangladesh

SIKA AG, a Swiss specialty chemical company, has established a new national subsidiary in Bangladesh, marking a milestone in its growth strategy and now is represented in 100 countries. Having the subsidiary in Bangladesh means the company will now be able to tap in to the country’s growing construction industry, which is estimated to have a total volume of 15 billion Swiss francs. SIKA CEO Paul Schuler says: “We have established 23 national subsidiaries since 2012 and now generate 36% of our sales in emerging markets. We enter emerging economies early on and are well established in mature markets. This enables us to harness potential at all stages in the development of the local construction sectors and to sell our entire product portfolio whether the requirement is for materials needed in new build construction, products that help to meet higher building standards, or solutions for refurbishment projects.”At present, SIKA is one of the largest developers and producers of materials used for bonding, sealing, damping, and protection and reinforcing in the construction and automotive industry.
