SHC expresses displeasure over delay in report on missing persons

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday expressed anger at police and other respondents over the non-recovery of missing persons and sought an explanation from the Sindh home secretary, chief secretary and police officials by submitting a report without delay. A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Justice Naimtullah Phulputo heard the pleas filed by families of missing men. The bench remarked that elder women were extremely worried about the delay in the recovery of their missing children. “We have realised that people are becoming disappointed with the system”, the bench remarked. The Sindh additional advocate general (AAG) told the court that the report was not submitted in court due to the home secretary’s missing signature.
