KOLKATA: South Eastern Railway (SER) has come tops in the Zonal Railway rating conducted by the Ministry of Railways SER , known as the 'Blue Chip' zone, was at the top of the list among 17 zones throughout from April to December, 2016. "The rating was done after critical scrutiny and comparative study of a set of 17 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as operational and financial performances. Both passenger traffic and freight loading were considered. SER obtained 75.48% to bag the top position," said Sanjoy Ghosh, CPRO, SER.Between April, 2016 and January, 2017, SER loaded 122.26 million tonnes as against 109.77 million tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year. SER also surpassed the Railway Board's target for the first 10 months of 2016-17 by 4.07%.
