With panchayat elections to be conducted by May this year, state election commission (SEC) instructed district administrations to get infrastructure ready till the booth level. SEC has directed all district administrations to update voters’ list, earmark places where booths would be put up, along with the required infrastructure. Officials also said that on February 6, list regarding reservations of Gram pradhan, deputy-pradhan, Panchayat Samity chairperson and vice chairperson would be released. By February 19, notices would reach the offices of Gram Panchayat and Panchayat Samity. SEC has instructed all district administration to get the required infrastructure ready within three months.
