SDX Makes Another Gas Discovery in Morocco

UK-based SDX Energy announced a new gas discovery in its ONZ-7 development well in the Sebou permit, north-western Morocco near the Atlantic city of Kenitra. Drilled to a total depth of 1,167 meters, the ONZ-7 well encountered five meters of net conventional natural gas pay in the Hoot formation, the company said in a statement. “We are very excited to be able to announce another discovery, the fourth from five wells drilled to date in our nine well Moroccan campaign,” Paul Welch, president and CEO of SDX was quoted in the statement as saying. We look forward to updating all our stakeholders on the progress of our KSS-2 prospect, the next well to be drilled,” he added. Earlier in January, SDX, which has a 75 percent working interest in the Sebou concession, has announced that it will abandon its ELQ-1 well in the Gharb Centre permit, north-western Morocco, after failing to achieve desired results from a drilling campaign.
