The Open Innovation Centre by SCG aimed to create faster and better innovation networks, drive R&D towards commercialisation, respond to consumer needs, and enhance people’s quality of life, as well as increase the competency of Thai industry, the company said. The centre, at Science Park inside Thammasat University Rangsit, would provide the opportunity for groups of researchers or anyone with a new idea to collaborate with SCG. Atchaka Sibunruang, Minister of Science and Technology, said that R&D science and technology was a significant process in forging an economic structure driven by innovations aligning with the Thailand 4.0 policy. “The Open Innovation Centre by SCG has full capability to strengthen innovation development for the company’s businesses and partners to faster create high-value added (HVA) products and services in order to respond to various customer needs,” Cholanat said. “R&D is significant for SCG in enhancing competitiveness.
