Police have reportedly barred the leaders of the Supreme Court Bar Association from visiting Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, who is currently on leave citing health complications. Bar Association Vice-President Umme Kulsum Rekha made the claim on Friday afternoon. She told the reporters: “We talked to the acting chief justice on Thursday, and he assured us that there are no restrictions against visiting Surendra Kumar Sinha in his residence.”“However, we have been prevented from visiting the chief justice. Police allegedly stopped the cars carrying the bar association leaders at the Matsya Bhaban intersection, while they were en-route to the chief justice’s residence. Meanwhile, additional policemen have been deployed from Supreme Court bar area to the residence of the chief justice since Friday.
