A day earlier, the ECP in its report to the top court highlighted that the government had failed to disburse the funds and was reluctant to provide the money. The SC observed that the “disobedience” by the federal government would place the holding of timely elections as mandated by the Constitution in “jeopardy”. It added that it was facing difficulties in issuing the schedule for the polls because of the lack of funds.
