A five-member bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order on Sunday morning, in response to a petition filed by the government seeking a stay of the High Court bail order. On August 30, the High Court granted bail to Manna in the case. Manna was arrested on February 24 last year, a day after the leak of his controversial telephone conversation with BNP leader Sadek Hossain Khoka, who has been staying in the USA for treatment purpose. The audio tape revealed that they were allegedly plotting a conspiracy of bloodshed in Universities.
