A six-member bench of the Appellate Division, headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed the order on the same day. Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Barrister Khandaker Reza-e-Rakib stood for BTRC while Advocate AM Amin Uddin and Barrister Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury stood for GP during the hearing. Following a recent Supreme Court order, GP on Sunday deposited Tk1,000 crore as partial payment of the total audit claim of Tk12,579.95 crore by the BTRC. On November 24, 2019, the Appellate Division ordered GP to pay Tk2,000 crore of the total dues within three months. On October 17, 2019, the High Court imposed a two-month injunction on realization of dues from GP.
