KUALA LUMPUR (April 8): The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has appointed Datuk Manoj Kurup, the former head of the prosecution division at the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), as the capital market regulator’s executive director of enforcement. Manoj, who retired from government service in 2024, succeeds Budiman Lutfi Mohamed, who was appointed as a judicial commissioner last week. “Manoj brings with him deep legal expertise and leadership to the SC,” SC chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi said. Aside from heading prosecution at the AGC, Manoj also held several prior roles, including head of appeals division. He was also a member of the Malaysian prosecution team on the joint investigation of the Malaysia Airlines MH17 tragedy, the SC noted.
