New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday asked a medical team from KEM Hospital in Mumbai to examine the 24-week pregnant woman seeking to have an abortion. Khehar sought a report from the medical team on 25 July. An amendment proposed in 2014 to the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act is pending before Parliament. The amendment seeks to allow termination between 20-24 weeks, done in good faith, by a competent authority Advocate Colin Gonsalves, who appeared for the petitioner, said that severe foetal anomalies are a ground for termination.
