SC asked to revert airport’s name to MIA – The Manila Times

Sometime last June, several representatives filed House Bill 7031 aiming to change the name “Ninoy Aquino International Airport” (NAIA) to “Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Pilipinas” or PPP (Philippine International Airport or PIA). Gadon, on the other hand, had started a signature campaign way back in January 2017 to restore the airport’s name to Manila International Airport (MIA). Examples are Dubai International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Frankfurt Airport, San Francisco International Airport, and Seoul Incheon International Airport, among many others. The name of the Manila International Airport is hereby changed to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. In fact, in 1995 the Philippine National Heroes Committee officially recommended several people for designation as national heroes.
